Pixels RPG Drives Transaction Volume on Ronin to New Highs
Ronin Sidechain is experiencing a resurgence thanks to Pixels RPG. The game has seen a remarkable surge in daily activity due to its partnership with Mocaverse NFT.
The news of the death of Ethereum sidechain – Ronin – is an exaggeration. The layer-2 gaming blockchain, home to the Axie Infinity, has recently seen a resurgence due to the arrival of the Web3 game Pixels. In the past month, transactions on the Ronin Chain went from below 100k daily to an average of 200k. This performance warrants a deep dive into Pixels and what makes it tick.
What is Pixels
Pixels is a role-playing Web3 game where players can farm, gather resources, and explore multiple worlds. The game launched about a year ago on Polygon and quickly became popular due to its comprehensive plotlines, variety of characters, and gameplay. It has now migrated to gaming sidechain Ronin. Pixels is also play-to-earn with its NFT collection and in-game items. The in-game currency is BERRY.
Pixels Recent Performance
In the past 30 days, Pixels has seen increased activity. Dappradar data shows that the number of unique active wallets (UAW) on Pixels was only 4k as of November 15, while total transactions were also 4.09k. That has now changed. Its UAWs are over 100k daily and peaked on November 22 at 122.34k. Transaction volume is also above 100k daily and peaked on the same day at 130.75k.
The impressive daily activity has translated into a good month for the Web3 game. The total number of UAWs in the last 30 days increased by 334% to 341.62k. Total transactions in the 30 days rose 628% to reach 2.88 million. Despite the massive surge in activity, its in-game BERRY has dropped by 30% within that period.
Meanwhile, other in-game assets have increased as trading activity also picked up. NFTs from Pixels have generated $2.74 million in trading volume from 998 traders in the past month. Unsurprisingly, the market cap of the NFTs has also improved by about 467% within that period, while the floor price is now up 943% to $2.75k.
What is Driving Pixels Performance
Pixels migration to the Ronin chain is an improvement for the game as it now has access to a blockchain designed for Web3 gaming. With the migration, it has also secured new partnerships, driving its activity.
The primary reason for the surge in activity is the Mocaverse and Pixels partnership. Through the partnership, Pixels has created a zone within the game known as Moca Clubhouse, which contains rewards, exclusive pets, and new quests. Only those who have a Moca ID can access this zone. In just two weeks of the partnership with Mocaverse, Moca ID holders have played more than 600k hours of Pixels and earned more than 50 million BERRY. The partnership is now set to proceed to the next phase.
Meanwhile, another factor that has helped Pixels is its inclusion in Season 3 of the Guild Advancement Program from Yield Guild Games (YGG). YGG is the leading P2E gaming guild with a strong community that boosts activity on the Web3 gaming platform. Its inclusion of Pixels amounts to an endorsement of the game and raises its profile.
